Break the Story; Begin Anew | June 15, 2025
Writer Charles de Lint once claimed, "We are made of stories." This is true of the stories we help make and help tell, and it is true of the stories that make us. The dominant narratives of our culture shape us in fundamental ways - they tell us what to value and whom to fear. They tell us what's "real" and what's "wrong." While these stories are all around us, forming and influencing us, they don't have to be the WHOLE story. This Sunday, looking at a passage in the Book of Acts, we consider how we have the agency to create new narratives inspired by a Power and Love that shuns shame and runs deeper than any regime.
