From Renegade Movement to Mainstream Religion: A Look at Scripture, History, and Faith
Wednesdays from June 11-July 9, 2025
The New Testament centers the stories of what appears to be a relatively small, renegade movement of outcasts who were routinely persecuted, constantly trying to define their role in and their relationship to mainstream society in the Roman Empire.
How, then, did Christianity become the official religion OF the Roman Empire? Furthermore, what does it mean for a faith that was, in many ways, defined against “the powerful” to, eventually, become the powerful? And, perhaps most importantly, what might these various histories and their related theologies mean for those of us striving to follow Jesus today?
Join Pastor Tony in a new bible study starting on Wednesdays at 6pm (in person or on Zoom) to discuss all of this and more!
