Between "Sucked In" and "Spaced Out" | February 1, 2026 (Zoom Church!)

Are you steadily watching the news these days, anxious to see what new drama or trauma has broken into the world? Or, instead, are you doing everything you can to avoid it--getting lost in a book, a show, or some social media app? When you're at home, do you often itch to get out into the world and get plugged into the mix of things, or, instead, do you relish your time of being tucked away? In this week's virtual worship and communion* service, we look at solitude - something that some of us avoid whenever we can, and something that others of us use an escape in and of itself. Join us as we consider how a variety of African-American authors encourage us to see solitude outside of the paradigm of avoidance, how solitude can enable soul care.
